Bright Y-DNA testing

Hello fellow Bright researchers,

I wanted to take a moment to draw some attention to the emerging DNA aspect of family history verification that has become available and more affordable to see if anyone might be interested. Many surnames have extensive projects going with http://www.familytreedna.com/Default.aspx but the Bright page is severely lacking on results collected. The Y chromosome test which I hope others would consider submitting must be done by a male Bright family member and is able to positively make determinations among related Bright families. I submitted my test and found the results quite interesting and compelling. Of particular interest to me are any possible connections between Bright’s from England or of known English ancestry to the Brecht family from Germany, many of whom anglicized their surnames to Bright in the second and third generations of the family in America. I am happy to share a great deal more information on this testing and what the results might reveal to anyone who is interested. You are welcome to e-mail me directly at christopherwbright@yahoo.com.

Thank you,
Chris Bright
