M. Chamberlin, sailed from Boston to San Francisco in 1862, and was a partner with a Mr. Brigham. In 1865, Brigham went back to Boston to get his wife, and also the fiance of Chamberlin. They arrived back at the Golden Gate to see the flags at half mast for the death of Abraham Lincoln, which dates their arrival as probably April 15, 1865.
