I have a Rufus Briggs b. 1783, father of l5 ch.m.l-?2 m. Sally Hopkins,3 m.? He was the son of TGeorge Briggs b. 4 April 1734 Portsmouth, R.I. d. abt l816.
George was Res of Warwich RI as early as 1756
Ensign in Rhode Island militia 8 Aug 1763
Res. of Easton, Albany Co. NY
Res. of Smyrna, Chenango Co. N.Y. He was m. 3 times and Rufus was b.during his 3rd wife, Lydia?. He had a brother Warren my gggrandfather, and a sister Mary who moved west. Does this help/
