A Caveat: I am not writing a book or a paper. I only do this for fun and am limited to the Internet for my research now. I had my chances at the Library of Congress, The National Archives, and the DAR Library when I lived in the Washington suburbs. So my data is not documented like some would like. Sorry. These entries are only bits I have found on the net. Take them accordingly, just as clues FH

GEORGE BRIGGS
brother of Lydia Briggs,(b.c.17?)who is said to be daughter of
Ralph and Mary Briggs of Henrico Co who both d. young and
left Lydia a minor. Her guardian became her maternal uncle
John Wright of Goochland Co (died soon) and then her Brother
George (who also died), then Richard Parsons, who married her
in1736.
These are the George Briggs records I have found so far in the
attempt to find Ralph Briggs’ parents.

1650 JOHN FLUDD, ( LOVE his family names !!). He had a
headright JOHN WRIGHT. JF was father of MARY m.
HENRY BRIGGS
The Floods were also involved with the HUNTS of Surry, from
whom I am descended(WILLIAM HUNT Sr and Jr and
THOMAS HUNT of Dinwiddie Co, descendants went to GA)

HENRY BRIGGS SR was stepfather of RICHARD WASHINGTON,
son of MARY FLOOD ,widow of Col. JOHN WASHINGTON ,
who had tenure to land belonging to RICHARD HILL. John
Washington was Richars W.’s father.John said to be cousin to
Pres.G.W.’s grandfather,but that isdisputed online

FAITH BRIGGS (SAMUEL,HENRY Sr) b. 1702 VA d. 1737
Surry Co m. HINCHEA GILLIAM bef. 1735. He was son of
HINCHEA GILLIAM and FORTUNE FLOOD, sister of Col.

She was b. Surry

Samuel and Mary Bailey’s children said to be William, Henry,

March 1698 Surry Court John Kersey, b.c.1668 and Howell Ed
munds prove GEORGE BRIGGS’ will. Surry Court
NOTE:John Kersey was son of Ann Kersey who apprenticed him
to Richard Parker, a brassier in 1675. , Richard died and his widow
Judith Parker sued Peter Kersey, who was a negro, to return his son
who had run away, to her service. . Judith died and John Kersey was
returned to William Hunt, her son. Apparently he was free by !695
and qualified to sign the document. His brothers were described as
mulatto, but in the records of the family John is not, His mother
apparently white.. William Hunt, was Judith Parker’s son by her
first marriage to William Hunt Sr. I am descended from William
Hunt Sr and JR and fromJudith and husband Richard Parker as well.

SIMMONS (Isle of Wight), THOMAS COCKE and BENJAMIN EDWARDS
(Surry) Gents.. of the second part and CHARLES SIMMONS of the third part.
This involved a circular tract of land 8 miles in diameter on the North side of
the Nottoway River, to be sold to settlers in no more than 400 acre lots to any
one person
(Complete treaty on line)

In 1734,Alliford (sic) Hughes and Isaac Hughes were Lydia Briggs’ secutities
in her request that Richard Parsons be appointed her guardian after GEORGE
BRIGGS, said to be her brother, died. GEORGE BRIGGS will pr by Robert
Carter and Jeremiah Dumas.. Hughes to be ex’r of his will during Lydia’s
Minority NOTE: Jesse Hughes and Sarah Tarleton has son ISAAC b.1702-
