BRIGGS of Brown Co. IL

Looking to exchange/discuss information on the following Briggs males in Brown Co. IL: Philip Briggs(1791-1852), Richard Briggs(1783-1875)and John Lemuel Briggs(1787-1878), all sons of a James Briggs b.c. 1748-50?, d. 1844 Rowan/Davidson Co. NC.

I am trying to determine if these brothers had another brother named James, b.c. 1763-77, who died in Greenup Co. KY after 1850, and had these children: Fanny, Nancy, Jacob, Elias, Elizabeth, and possibly John.

Elias Briggs, b.c. 1798 came to Schuyler Co. IL by 1835 or so, having previously married in 1823 in Scott Co. IN to a Jane/Jenny Rose, and died in Schuyler Co. IL in 1856. He was settled in Bainbridge Township, south of Newberry(?)at a place called "Briggs Landing" on the Illinois River; apparently, he operated a ferry at that location. His second wife was a Jane Seybold, who survived him, his first wife having died in 1851.

If anyone can offer anything that might prove that Elias Briggs b.c. 1798 was, in fact, a nephew(or cousin?)to the above-named Briggs of Brown Co., I would certainly appreciate hearing from you!
Regards,
Larry D.H. Coats
