I am trying to piece togeather limited info I that I have, I am seeking any info on this line to try to fill in some holes.
Nathan Briggs .b. 1799 m. (1) Maria Briggs 1827 m. (2) Sophia Briggs 1830
Nathan Died June 28 1870(Struck by lightning in his home)
Nathan Had 3 brothers who died when he was very young, Stutson, Thomas,Cornelius.
A brother Spooner died 1839 and 2 sisters Aunt Scott (widow d. 11/23/1873) other unknown
Nathan & Sophia had 7 children according to my notes
Benjamin Spooner (Capt. of the Mary Celeste)
Sarah Cobb daughter of the Rev. Leander Cobb married Benjamin Briggs in 1862
Children Sophia & Arthur
(I am told we descend from Arthur but have yet to confirm it)
Maria b.1831 lost at sea with Husband Capt. Joe Gibbs 11/16/1859 their vessel was run down by a steamer
Nathan H. b.1834 died at sea Oct 23 1855 yellow fever, buried Gulf of Mexico
Zenas Marston b.1844 ( Was known as Uncle Zene)
Oliver Everson b.1837
m. Eliza Allen
James C. b.1839
m. Rebecca Vincent d.1873
m. 1875 Mary Reynolds
I have a gap here and would like to here from any one with info that may help
My grandfather was Russel Austin Briggs, 1914-1951
He had a sister Adrieene and a brother Oliver
Russel's father was Walter S. Briggs .I believe he was the grandson of Benjamin
Walter was married to Elsie Kirby
Elsie had a sister Idelly
Let me know if you have any info that may help me fill in the blanks or make corrections/additions,
