I am looking for more information on this couple. The 1850 census for Springwater, Livingston County, New York, shows an Amariah Briggs about age 63, his wife Lydia Briggs about age 54, and her son John "Strait" age 23.
Would like to know when and where Amariah and Lydia married. Her first husband was Lawton Straight who died about 1840. Lydia and Lawton had four children: Sarah Straight (1826-1884) that married Joel S. May, John Straight (1828-1887) who married Lydia Marie Culver, Samuel Straight (about 1830), Lydia Straight (1832-1895) who married Albert Popple and then Jay Foster.
Also would like to find out more about this Amariah Briggs. Where did he come from and when? When did he die? Was he widowed when he married Lydia?
