Researching the parentage of John Lenard Briggs of Brown County, Illinois as well as Davidson North Carolina. His mother was a Sarah Johnson, but unsure if this is her married name or maiden name. John Lenard took his stepfather's name(Henry Briggs)when Henry married his mother. I am trying to locate his birth father born around late 1700's or early 1800's as well as Sarah's birth name. Would appreciate any leads!
