Thank you for the information. I think I found most of it already. But I didn't know Sybill was born in East Greenwich. I have not found the birth information for Sarah who was born about 1824. Maybe she was born in East Greenwich also. I don't have a birth place for Thomas except Kent County, although, since the family was in East Greenwich the census before and after he was born I guess I could assume he was born there. I just like to see it written.

The marriage of George and Lydia is not correct. It should be 1817. I was bothered by the 1807 date because George would have been 13 and Lydia 7 that year. I got a photo-copy of the records from East Greenwich and it says 1817. It had been transcribed wrong.

And it seems pretty sad to me that George ended up in a poor house. His son Thomas was alive and doing well in 1880. He was the town attorney in Howard Lake, MN. Why should a father have to live that way when kids could help him? And it looks from the information you found that Sybill was not only still alive, but in the same area. Maybe there was a family squabble or something. Still seems sad.

Well, thank you for checking on these things. I have been in contact with another Briggs researcher who was able to give me not only information, but he has sources also. That's always nice.

I forgot where you fit into the Briggs lines. Let me know. I may have some information for you. Or you may already have all your Briggs information.

Thanks again.
Claire
