Etta, My research leads me to conclude your William Thomas Brigance was probably the son of Joel Dyer and Matilda (Hollis) Brigance. However, more documentation is needed to prove this speculation. I believe your William Thomas is the Thomas Brigance listed in the 1860, Hickman Co. Ky Census--listed in the household with John Brigance, age 29. This Thomas was listed as age 22 and born in TN (b. ca 1838, TN) Does this date of birth agree with your information on your William Thomas? I believe Thomas later married (probably in Hickman Co., KY) and had at least two children- William Thomas, Jr. b. in 1872 and Lillie b. in 1874. Did the Lillie you refer to ever live in Snyder, OK? William Thomas, Jr. (b. 1872)married and later lived in Pinto Co. Co., TX (1900), Wichita Co., TX (1910) and Oklahoma Co., OK (1920). Yes, members of this family did migrate to TX. I have more information on this family. Please let me know if you thinks it fits/connects and if you are interested in sharing/exhanging information on this line. Do the names Lancaster and Hemphill mean anything to you in your Brigance research?
