Thanks for posting this death date. James Miner Brigance is my grandfather. About a year after moving his wife and unmarried children from Scott Co. (AR) to Little River Co., he died of maleria. Several members of the family were too sick with maleria to attend his funeral.
Soon after his death his wife (Mary Frances "Mollie")and his younger five children left Little River Co. and settled in Haskell Co., OK. Some of their descendants still live in the Keota and Stigler area.
In their later years, my father and some of his brothers
returned to Little River to visit James Miner's grave.
They were unsuccessful in their attempts to locate their
father's grave.
