Albert,
In 1985, a woman named Lois McInyre wrote that" an abstract of the will of William Brigance, estate settled in Sumner Co., TN, June term of court, 1812, was as follows: Wife Elizabeth and sone James Brigance, administrators. Ch: John William, George S., Catherine and Elizabeth." I think that I had read something that you wrote about the probablity that William and George S. were brothers, each with a daughter named Elizabeth, nicknamed Betsy, and that George S. had been named the gaurdian of William's Betsy after he died. Lois also wrote that Geo. S. was the bondsman for the marriage of Burrell Hunter and Elizabeth Brigance, but showed him as Elizabeth's brother, rather that as her father, as I had supposed. Somewhere, I thought that I read that George Stewart Brigance' father was named David.
I'm a descendant of Burrell and Elizabeth (Brigance) Hunter. Could you shed any light on any of this?
