Kinship of Early Brigances
Posted by: Albert H. Brigance Date: December 12, 1999 at 17:58:55
  of 350

There were eight Brigances of public record in the Cumberland Settlement (now Sumner Co., TN) prior to 1797 -- jury duty, land transactions, marriages, etc. Alphabetically, the eight were David, George Stewart, Hugh, Jane (Brigance) Dyer, John, Nicholas, Robert, and William.
There is documentation Robert was the son of William. No documentation has been found to confirm the kinship of the other seven. Any information that documents the kinship of the other seven would be appreciated.
Also, it is well documented as to what happened to the eight except for Nicholas. Did Nicholas have any descendants? Is he the Nicholas Brigant found in records in Louisana in the early 1800's?
