I think I found the information I have been looking for... The 1901 British Census states that an Edgar Brierley, age 19 (thus born in 1882), lived at 2 Shepherds Yard, Rochdale, Lancashire, ENG, and worked as a machine minder in a cotton mill. He lived with his 21 year old (born 1880) sister Ethel, who worked as a cotton card room hand, and his father, ... Brierley (name unknown) whom was 66 years old (born 1835) and was a retired iron worker. Tracing Ethel Brierley through the records at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I discovered the following information from the 1881 British Census, keeping in mind that Ethel Brierley would be 1 at this time, and her father would be 46 (Edgar would not yet be born)...

Thus, I am now looking for information regarding these people. I am especially looking for Hiram Brierley’s birth certificate, listed in the Saddleworth Civil Records of March 1838, volume 23, page l83; Edgar Brierley’s birth certificate, listed in the Rochdale Civil Records of June 1901, volume 8e, page 26; and Ethel Brierley’s birth certificate, listed in the Rochdale Civil Records of September 1901, volume 8e, page 31.
