Hello Roger

I am conducting a One-Name Study on the name BRIER/BRYER and all variants. I have a database of nearly 10,000 names, mostly in UK, and I found the following Mary Ann BRIERE in it:
Wife of Adolph(us) BRIERE, mother of Mary Sarah BRIERE who was baptised in Stepney St Dunstan 6 Sept 1856
Mother of Desiree BRIERE, baptised in Stepney St Dunstan 30 Sept 1860
Another Desiree married Henry Augustus ROUX in St Pancras Old Church in 1866, possibly Adolphus's sister?

The name does not crop up at all in the 1881 census.

Mail me direct on sdaws@artscape.demon.co.uk for information on the others of this name that I have listed.

Regards

Sue Daws
