My French is very poor. I know just a few simple words.

I research only Irish rcds.

For American rcds for people who are deceased, search the Social Security Death Index (Google SSDI). Also search the U.S. censuses for relevant decades.

Because the parents named a son "Roy," this indicates the Brien family is at least 2nd or 3rd generation Irish-American.
