Hi Jean,
That is the information that I have, too. I don't know her parents' names, just her grandmother Mary Brien (it must be Laura's father's mother). Mary was a widow and 63 or 65 when the census was taken.

I loooked again at my 1900 census info for Fitchburg, MA. Mary's children Jinaide, Eugenie, Valerie (all born in Canada), Mathias (born in MA) and Alfred (born in Rhode Island) are all living with her, too. These would be Laura's father's siblings.

Valerie was the last one to be born in Canada in 1864 and Mathias was born in 1869 in MA so they left Canada in between those years. I tried to find MA census info for them but was unable to.

Laura was born in 1883 so her father would probably have been born in the late 1850s or early 1860s.

Do any of those names sound familiar?

Thank you for any help you can give me.
Lisa Shaughnessy
