Thomas W. Bridgman was born November 1848, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the son of Isaac Bridgman and Jane Butler.
Thomas was the last of Isaac and Jane's children to be born in Campbell County. The family moved to Walker County, Georgia, in 1849.
The 1850 Walker County, Georgia census, Chickamauga Township, shows 2 year old Thomas with his parents and siblings.
Thomas' father, Isaac, died in August 1859. The 1860 Walker County census, Rock Spring Post Office, shows 12 year old Thomas W. with his widowned mother and his siblings.
Thomas married Ruth E. Lamb prior to 1875, in Georgia. Thomas and Ruth had three children. We believe Ruth died in 1879, possibly during or after childbirth.
The 1880 Vernon County, Missouri census shows Thomas and his children living in Lake Township with his brother James Bridgman and his family. The census shows James Bridgman, head, 33, born in Tennessee; Cintha, wife, 32, born in Tennessee; Mary E., daughter, 7, born in Georgia; Cora A., daughter, 4, born in Georgia; Thomas Bridgman, other, widowed, 28, born in Tennessee; William S. Bridgman, other, 5, born in Georgia; Claudius J. Bridgman, 3, born in Georgia; and Vandiver Bridgman, 10 months, born in Georgia.
Thomas married Ruth Evelyn Davis about 1882, in Georgia.
The 1900 Walker County, Georgia census, LaFayette District, shows Thomas W. Bridgman, head, 52, born November 1848, in Tennessee, married 26 years, a farmer; Ruth, wife, 39, born July 1861, in Georgia, married 16 years, given birth to 5 children, 5 children still living; Claude J., son, 22, born December 1877, in Georgia; Orville, son, 16, born December 1883, in Georgia; Earl, son, 13, born February 1887, in Georgia; Maude, daughter, 12, born November 1887, in Georgia; Grady, son, 11, born April 1889, in Georgia; and Emmett, son, 6, born August 1893, in Georgia.
Thomas died in 1918, in Walker County, Georgia.
