Hannah, Abigail, William, Daniel - Bristol County, MA
I'm still searching for the elusive ancestors of my Lucinda Bridgam (b Swansea, MA 4 May 1775 to Charles Bridgum and wife Rachel) and whom I believe to be a Bridgham.
For those of you not familiar with Massachusetts' Bristol County -Rehoboth, Swansea and Dighton share a common border and lands changed among the towns frequently.
I know that Lucinda's father, Charles "Bridgum" or "Bridgam" was living in Dighton, with her mother Rachill when her brother, George, was born in 1779.
Many of you claim relationship to Joseph Bridgham and Martha Bucklin, both of Rehoboth, m. 1760.I believe that Lucinda's father, Charles, shares a common ancestor with Joseph.
There are other Bridgham names (and no BRIGHAMS) to be found inBristol County in this time frame.
Who was DANIEL Bridgham? There is this death listed for Rehoboth:Abigail of Daniel, d. September 8, 1778.
Who was WILLIAM Bridgham? He served in Captain John Perry's company April 19-27, 1775.(Rehoboth)
Who was HANNAH LUTHER Bridgham who m. Aaron Smith, 18 November, 1811?(Asa Bullock m. them.) (Rehoboth)
Neither Daniel nor William seem to be children of Josheph Bridgham and Martha Bucklin according to the VRs.
As the children of Joseph Bridgham and Martha Bucklin, Rehoboth VRs list Abigail b. 1 Dec 1761; Sarah b. 6 Aug 1763; Charlotte b. 16 May 1765; Joseph & Martha, b. 21 Mar 1770 and Samuel Willard b. 4 May 1774.
Therefore, it would seem to me that there was a large Bridgham contingent in Bristol County at this time - Joseph, William, Daniel and Charles.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
