I think your Mary Bridgewater is a daughter of Henry and Mary Bridgewater of Pulaski Co., VA. In the 1850 Census of Pulaski Co., this family is indexed "Bridgunter", p. 254. Henry was a "Waggon Maker", age 57, b. VA (I suspect Henrico Co.) and his wife, Mary was 48, b. VA. Their children still at home were Mary, age 25 (probably your Mary), James, age 16, and John, age 13. On p. 242a of the same census is Burgess Whitt, age 20 "f" which I take to be an error by the census taker, and that this may be your Burgess. As far as Sophia (Bridgewater) Rupe or Roop, I also think she is a daughter of Henry and Mary, and a sister to your Mary (Bridgewater) Whitt, but I am still looking for this couple. I would appreciate your letting me know if you turn up anything new on this line and, if I find new data, I'll also let you know.

Vern Paul
