Hi Jacqueline I have just found an entry in my original notes that could link your George to my tree: Christening at St Thomas, Portsea, Hampshire. 30 Aug 1829 George Bridgen, son of James and Ann of Broad Street, Portsea, Hampshire Father's occupation: illegible, but something like Whellcage or Shellcage James was my 3x grt grandfather. The tree is online at: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/bean95/ft/bean/links/index.htm although George won't be entered until the next update. It would appear that this George died in Portsmouth in the March qtr 1874 aged 44. I wondered if his widow was Elizabeth Bridgen shown widowed on the 1881 census at 15 Cornwall Street, London, with 6 children, all born at Portsmouth. James was a marine and labourer and started receiving a pension between 1830 - 1833. Notify Administrator about this message?
