Try Greenville, Highland Twnship, SC ED 28 Page 8, Line 14 in 1900. I show a William R. Bridgman, which could easily be a Winfield S. with DOB of Jan 1859 age 41, Angeline 49 Aug 1850 , B (possibly brother or could be SON Thomas 15 Sept 1884 NC, A (Need to check this code) Nancy Peace 80 SC(March 1820, possibly Angeline's mother, SE (Servant) Lillie Huntsinger (June 1883)NC and SE Arena Huntsinger 1 June 1898 NC. It appears that he could have been son of Joseph Bridgeman age 23 SC, Elizabeth 20 SC and Son William 1 of SC. This is in Greenville, Glassy Mountain, SC, 1860 census page 390. They were living by a Catharine Bridgman 63 of VA who had daughter age 25 on same page. Children all born in SC. I am a clearinghouse for Bridgman/Bridgeman. This info was taken from index or soundex according to date. Perhaps when you look at census you will be able to check if this is your family. I also have some information on a M. C.(name believed to be McCullough) age 38 and Rebecca Bridgman age 37 who lived in Polk, Co, NC in 1860 with Children, Mary A. 15, Emily c. 13, Elizabeth 10, Leanna 8, George M. 5, John W. all listed as born NC. By 1900 census Rebecca is living in Greenville, Glassy Mtn. Twp, SC with her daughter Leona 35 and both are listed as being born in SC. Let me know what you uncover so I can put it in my records.
