Hi Lena,

You have lots of info on the Bridgeman's. I wonder how much is proven. I would dearly love the M Lic of Frances 7 Judith Elizabeth Thompson Bridgeman.

Judith is the daughter of John Thompson & Rebecca Scurlock who were M 3/12/1793 in Halifax Co, VA. And that M date is proven. MB1: 27. Circuit Court, Halifax Co, VA

John appeared to live longer than his wife Rebecca (whom I don't know yet her death date. John purchased the family bible of his wife's mother---Judith Ferguson Scurlock. (Judith died in 1826 in Halifax Co, VA)

Then when John Thompson dies (his wife Rebecca Scurlock thompson died earlier but we don't know when) John's estate was adm by a David Thompson. So is David a relative of John or a son of John? I only have one child, thus far, to John & Rebecca Scurlock thompson and that is Judith Elizabeth Thompson Bridgeman....that is why I was chasing HER...trying to find the Rebecca Scurlock THOMPSON would have gone to her daughter Judith Elizabeth Thompson or possibly DAVID...if he was a son and administrator of John Thompson's estate about 1830.

Clue to this Bible would help the Thompson family and possibly the Bridgeman family if Judith Elizabeth thompson Bridgeman was the recipient of it.

Another thing in your gedcom was the SISTER of Frances Bridgeman. You state she died in Williamson Co, Tn and have some children. If you could check more on that....I am in TN now doing genealogy and would look it up, if we can find some JACKSON names that descend from those children.

I find it interesting that TWO of Martha Patsey Bridgeman Jackson children are named Rebecca...which would have been for their GRAND AUNT? Rebecca Scurlock Thompson.

Any leads here in TN...please let me know. I'll eventually dip down in MS, AL, LA, GA but just across the border of TN and so probably won't get to Caiborne, LA?

There was a DAVID THOMPSON who was administrator of the estate of John Thompson and so wonder if he's a son or brother? As he could have kept the bible for his descendents.

Thanks for responding. Click on my name above to get email address.
