Again, I'm sitting here in the office without my notes, but am I remembering correctly that among the buyers at William Bridgeman's estate was one Calvin Bridgeman? If so, that certainly supports this William Calvin being from our bunch. One thing I have wondered if I mentioned to you--did I tell you that when I searched the marriages of Wythe County, I found that Daniel Lockett (think I'm remembering the preacher's name) had accrued 20 or so marriage returns and turned them all in on the same day--which is the date that has been given frequently for the marriage of William and Mariam Brown Bridgeman. In reality their marriage license was dated almost 2 years before, and it is likely they actually married within a month of the license issuance. This makes the birthdate given for Charlotte Bridgeman Wheeler make a lost more sense. Have you corresponded with any of Charlotte's descendants. There is a lot of info available on the Wheelers. . . Also, did I share with you the reference to Rebecca Bridgeman having married another Wheeler, another Richard I believe. This Rebecca would be from the William Bridgeman generation and probably another sister, and possibly child of Franklin. More later--Steve
