Bridger, Bridges, Bridge, Bridgers, Briggs DNA Project - Update
Our DNA Project continues to grow and we have more DNA matches. We have some Bridge participants, but their results are not in, yet. One interesting thing is that we have two persons with the surname of BRIGGS who are only one marker away from a BRIDGES at 12 markers. They have ordered the upgraded test to see if they match at 25 or 37.

While on the subject of markers, the company, FamilyTreeDNA.com has a new Y-DNA test that reports on 37 markers instead of the old maximum of 25. Several participants are upgrading to this test. The upgrade from 25 is a reasonable cost.
Another announcement that I have failed to make is that FamilyTreeDNA, also, has a website called ysearch.org, which is listed on your personal webpage at FamilyTreeDNA.com (if you are a DNA participant). Clicking on the link there will enable you to upload your marker results to their new website where they can be matched with thousands more people than in the original database because anyone tested by any company in the world can include their markers there. It is possible to find matches there, that aren't apparent from your webpage. If you have a problem with this upload, I can do it for you on request.
I would like you to find participants of all spellings of our name of interest: Bridges, Bridger, Bridgers, Bridge & Briggs and persuade them to join us. We, really, need to get some involvement from Europe if we are to find from whence we came, as it seems that there are not living males of all the lines that began on the early American shores.
