Laurie,I can't help you with the story or a Philip but I have the Peter that you mention. I believe his father is Jacob Bricker 1759-1855 who died in Indiana County, PA. Jacob's brother, Nicholas is of my line. Jacob and Nicholas appear in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, PA. about 1795 and Jacob is found on the 1807 Tax list for Black Lick Township, Indiana County, PA. I don't have proof they are related but lots of evidence.
