I have a Maria Brieck in my tree who was born in Germany in 1826 and died in Formosa, Ontario on 9/26/1915 married to George Krotsch. They had 12 children, Anna, Frederick, Jacob, Henry, George, John Anton,
Julianna, Barbara, Albert, Joseph Francis, Marianna Agatha and Peter. My mother was a Brieck and her family came from the Palatine area of Germany. Trying to find the siblings of Maria so I can tie them into my tree. The farthest I can go back was to my great great grandparents Stephen and Dorthea(Lantz) Brieck. Dorthea was born in 1830 in Germany and I can't find out if Maria and Stephen were siblings or cousins. Do you have anymore on Maria?
I found a Jacob Brieck, while searching, who was born in 1875 in Weichendengen, Germany. It appears that the name Brieck has been misspelled through the years and may have been shortened to Brick. My research has discovered that back in the 1700s it was Brueck.
Do you have anymore info on the Brick/Brieck name?
