Elizabeth Briceland/Rev. John Gordon

I am searching for connections to/information on Elizabeth Briceland from Scotland, but my information on her is rather sketchy. I know that she was the niece of Rev. John Gordon, from Scotland. So I'm supposing that she was either his sister or brother's child. My theory is that she was his sister's daughter. The story is told that Rev. Gordon's sibling was excommunicated from the Catholic Church because they married a Protestant. I'm surmising that it was a female who married a Briceland in Scotland. There are connections between the Gordon/Bricelands & George Hibberd (London, Middlesex).
Is anyone able to shed any light on this?
