The first generation on my family tree states:
Uzal Crane was a direct descendent of Jasper Crane who was one of the founders of Newark, N.J., with Captain Robert Treat. Jasper was borne about 1600 near London, England and settled in New Haven Conn., about 1639. Uzal is 6 generations from Jasper.
