I am researching my husband's family and we have managed to get as far back as James Bryan in what is now Abingdon, VA. He had a son, Landon (or Landrens as it was written in one spot) around 1816. Would any of this match with what you know? I read what you wrote about James signing with an X. We found an electronic copy of Landon's father's will, signed with an X, and in the Abingdon cemetary, a couple of people have had T's put in the end of the name, even though they were siblings. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Kim Bryan Notify Administrator about this message?
