Benjamin Bryan, Sr. who died in Hall County, GA, was the son of James Brian, Sr. James, Sr., was born in Ireland and came to America as a small child. He served in McKenzie's Troop, Hill Regiment, Sumpter's Brigade during the Rev. War. For this he was given land on Mill Creek in York Dist. SC. Because of this, I believe all his children would have been born in SC.
Benjamin's mother died and her name is unknown. Benjamin had a son named James Brian born about 1814 in GA. He married Elizabeth Buffington.
James, Sr., remarried and he had a son named Moses Brian that also came to Hall County, GA. Moses married Mary Massie "Polly" Buffington, aunt of Elizabeth Buffington.
I believe I have a list of Benjamin's children and also James, Sr.'s. I found a book in the York County Historical Society room that had this James Brian's family written up. They had the names of Benjamin and Moses listed as children but since they had moved away they had no further information on them. I will check my Brian file and post the children's names and the name of the book to this site.
