1st Brewton/Bruton DNA Results!

Hello all,

I'm very pleased to report that yesterday we received our first set of full DNA results for four of our test participants.

Our participants have taken the 25 marker test.

Three of our participants match IDENTICALLY. This means that all 25 markers are the same. These three participants are descendants of David Bruton of Spartanburgh District, SC, James Brewton of Madison County, AL, and Jesse P. Bruton of Greene County, NC.

The fourth participant is a descendant of George Bruton of Anson County, NC. His test results were almost identifical -- 24 of his 25 markers matched identically with the other three.

What does all this mean?

David Bruton, James Brewton, and Jesse P. Bruton are definitively related and share a common male ancestor. George Bruton is also related, since he is only one marker off, and the probability is very high that he had a close connection to David, James, and Jesse.

For more information on the on-going study, please visit our webpage at:

Our study results will improve as we have more participants! So please consider joining us!

Regards,

Brian Nilsson and Cathy Cranford
