I am looking for information on the family of Samuel Brewton of Tattnall County, GA.; in particular, his daughter, Clarissa, known as Claresy. She was the second wife of Dr. William Thomas Morgan of Effingham County, GA., my great-great-great grandfather. Dr. Morgan had two sons from a previous marriage, Herschel and Melville Morgan, both born in Effingham County. I located William Morgan's gravesite in a Nazarene Church cemetery near Bellville, outside Claxton, GA. Most of the names in this cemetery are Smith, which was Clarissa's mother's maiden name. The church looks fairly new. The denomination of the church may have been something other than Nazarene when the cemetery was first used.
