Hi Joy, I have not gone over all of your chart yet but I checked out my own family quickly and can give you a couple of corrections. My Great-Grandfather was William Johnson Brewton married to Sarah Emily Weaver. They married n Conecuh Co. AL. Nov. 30 , 1848. He did die in Meridian. but was not living there. They had moved to Lucedale, MS.from Conecuh Co. AL. He had a lumbermill in Meridian. I believe the accident that killed him was a fall from a horse. I need to check with my mother. He and his wife are buried in Lucedale's Magnolia Cemetery. My Grandfather, William Benjamin Brewton, was married to Mary Lou Braswell. He was never a dentist as you have in your information. I have sent corrections on this to many people and it still comes out. I do not know how that ever got started. He was a Pharmicist and a Medical Doctor. He graduated from the Medical College of Mobile in 1900. He practiced there and in Lucedale, MS. He retired and later died in Panama City, FL. As to the "beginning " of this line...???? We know that Isabel(la) was the wife of a Mr. Bruton. We do not know her maiden name or the name of the Brewton she married. We do not even know exactly how many children she had...or if she was the 2nd wife of Mr. Brewton. Her "2nd" marriage was to a Mr. Askew. We do not know his first name. I think it is believed that she married him in New Bern, NC, Dobbs Co., where she and Mr. Brewton lived. She left there and eventually settled in Barnwell Co, Orangeburg Dist., SC and then in the Bullock/Tattnall Co GA area where she died. The Benjamin you have listed first, married to Charlotte, I think is the one who married Jemima Johnson Fontaine after the death of her husband Francis Fontaine. There was a Benjamin who married Charlotte but he may have been a nephew of the one who lived in Charleston and married Jemima (this B. never had any children). There has always been a lot of confusion about the Benjamins because there are SO MANY! It was a very popular family name which does not help us sort them out, especially when they are in the same generation. I think the Benjamin who married Charlotte was the son of Joseph the brother of the Benjamin who married Jemima. Don't hold me to that as I am not sure it is documented. There is plenty of room for research in this family line. The problem is that many documents are lost and a lot of work has been printed without documentation. I keep hoping someone will start researching and join the forum with a family Bible or other documentation in their possession. Now are you really confused??? :) Keep searching! Carol Brewton Forney
