We previously discussed that there were two different William Brewer in Oglethorpe Co GA in 1800:
1)Wm Brewer (b.1750's)--internet says he married Elizabeth Holman and died about 1818 (not confirmed by me)
2)Wm Brewer (b.abt.1778-living 1860 Clarke Co GA), son of Burwell Brewer and Elizabeth Patrick.

Oglethorpe County marriages:
William Brewer married Sally Doggett 1800
William Brewer married Jenny Tanner 1804

Numerous internet sources say that Sally Doggett was a 2nd wife of the older William Brewer. I think that she was the 1st wife of the younger William.

Clarke Co GA Inferior Court Minutes
Jan 1821
William Brewer appointed guardian of John Brewer, minor child of said William Brewer
(In 1827, William was still guardian--charged with contempt of court)

Superior Court Minutes
Feb 1830
"For the use of John Brewer" vs William Brewer and Thomas Doggett

So John's father was still alive in 1831. Am I interpreting this correctly?
