Okay, I went back and did a little more digging and unless your Burwell Brewer went by another name, he is not listed on the U.S, Revolutionary War rolls 1775-1783. However I did locate a Burwell Brewer listed for the War of 1812 in Alexander's Batt'n Riflemen Mil, enlisted as a private, discharged as a private, found in Roll Box 24, Roll Exct 602. I don't think the War of 1812 participants will gain you DAR Membership. Also I would think your Burwell Brewer would be a little old to join the 1812 war. However there could have been 82 yr old men capable of doing just that.

I am not sure if the rolls 1775-1783 include others that assisted in the war effort other than regular soldiers or not.

There were 81 Brewers listed on the rolls of 1175-1783.
