In case you guys aren't familiar with these cites:
Some census records here as well:
I have a few questions. Not sure if anyone can help me.
My great-great-grandmother was Isobel Brewer (married Charles Johnson).
I have this census record. Isobel's parents were Joseph A. and Caroline Brewer. Isobel is not mentioned on the census because she is married and living with her husband, but she had 5 younger brothers.
Joseph was apparently born Dec 1855 in Missouri.
Caroline was born Nov 1853 in Missouri.
They were married about 1878.
Their daughter Isobel was born in 1878
King born July 1882
Willie born May 1888
George D. born Jan 1890
Guy was born March 1893
Harry was born February of 1897.
I think Joseph and Caroline also had 2 children that died before 1900.
This census shows George and Teresa Brewer in Perry county, Missouri. http://tinyurl.com/l72mkb
They have Mary H. (born 1862), Mary I. (born 1864), Joseph E. (born 1868), Henry F. (born 1873), Joseph A. (born 1878), Joseph T. (born 1860), James M (born 1878).
Does that make sense? Why would they have 2 Marys and 3 Josephs?
Joseph A. cannot be my ancestor then. Isobel was born in 1878. Her father could not have been born the same year, obviously. Maybe Joseph T. (born 1860) is Isobel's father? That would make him 18 when she was born.
And I wonder if/when the Brewer family migrated from Perry to Reynolds county, Missouri.
Any info about this family would be much appreciated. Thanks.
