Danville, VA - William Ernest 'Bill' Brewer, Sr., 61, of
193 Natural Springs Court, Providence, NC, died March 28,
2009, at Duke University Medical Center, after a decline
in health of several months.

Born August 10, 1947, in Montgomery Co NC, he was the son
of the late Ila Mae Davis Brewer and the late Colon
Franklin Brewer. He was married to Sandra Fowlkes Brewer,
April 9, 1993.

Mr. Brewer was a long haul truck driver for Old Dominion
Freight Lines, where he was awarded the million mile
safety award for safe driving. He loved motorcycles and
Big trucks, and Nascar racing, he was an avid animal lover.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one
sister, Anna Catherine Brewer; and two brothers, Paul M.
Brewer and Robert B. Brewer.

He especially loved his special companions, Buster, Betty
Sue, Onyx, and Tony.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by
three daughters, Patricia Annette Strickland, of Ashboro,
NC, Sandra Denise Holland of Rocky Mount, VA, and Wendy
Hawker Bare of Bristol, TN; one son, William E. Brewer Jr.
of Randleman, NC; two brothers, John Colon Brewer of
Bisco, NC, and Barney Lee Brewer of Bisco, NC; nine grand-
children; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 1,
2009, 2 p.m., at Norris Funeral Services Chapel, with the
Rev. Larry House officiating. The family will receive
friends Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 12 noon until 1:30
p.m. prior to the service.

The family respectfully requests that donations be made to
your local animal Shelter.
