James 'Jim' Robert Brewer, Sr., 66, formerly of Bristol,
Sullivan Co TN, went to be with his Savior at the VA
Medical Center in Nashville, TN, following a brief
illness. He had been a resident of Nashville for the past
27 years. Jim retired from Capital/Flint Printing Ink with
37 years of service.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the
Vietnam War achieving the rank of Corporal. Mr. Brewer was
a member of the American Legion. He loved to fish and was
an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Clifton
Brewer; a step-father, Troy McReynolds; a sister, Dorothy
Ray; and infant twin brothers.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Lunsford
Brewer; his daughter, Eva Marisa Brewer Lewis, McMinnville,
TN, his son, James Robert Brewer, Jr. and wife, Donna,
Church Hill, TN; grandchildren, Marisa Le’nae Davis and
husband, John, Nichole Breck Lewis, Jaimie Leah-Ann
Brewer, James Robert Brewer III, Mallena Marie Brewer; his
mother, Ruth McReynolds, Bristol, TN; a sister, Linda Ray
McReynolds, Bristol, TN; Wayne McReynolds and wife, Joan,
Winston-Salem, NC; along with several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at
Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Kingsport from 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, February
24, 2008 at 7 p.m. with Ralph Brewer officiating.
The Hawkins County Color Guard and the Tennessee Army
National Guard will conduct a military graveside service
on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill
Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Blountville, TN.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, TN, is serving the
Brewer family.
