Dorothy Ann Brewer Pickering Ray, 66, 500 E Mountain View Drive, Johnson City, Washington Co TN, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City. Mrs. Ray was a Bristol, VA, native and had lived most of her life in Washington Co TN. She was a daughter of Mary Ruth Henley McReynolds, Bristol, TN, and the late James Clifton Brewer. Her husband, Clyde J. Ray and her stepfather, Troy McReynolds, preceded Mrs. Ray in death. She was member of the Y Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her mother, include four daughters, Kimberly Renee Collier, Flag Pond, TN, Elizabeth Ruth Pierson, Jonesborough, TN, Lola Mae Proffitt, Fall Branch, TN, and Laurie Pickering Tester, Jonesborough, TN; one sister, Linda McReynolds, Dublin, VA; two brothers, James Brewer, Nashville, TN, and Wayne McReynolds, Winston Salem, NC; one grandson, Joshua Allen Hartman, Johnson City, TN; two granddaughters, Angel Latisha Pierson, and Nikki Tester, both of Jonesborough, TN; special aunt, Dorothy L. Jones, Blountville, TN, and several nieces and nephews. The family expresses a special thanks to Mrs. Ray’s dialysis doctors, Dr. Vermillion, Dr. Spannuth, Dr. Weigland, Dr. Panus, Dr. Tran and the staff of Fresenius Medical Care. A funeral service for Mrs. Ray will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2007, from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Glen Hoilman will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Roseleawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Collier, Charles Pierson, Jr., David Proffitt, Bill Tester and Joshua Hartman. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at her residence, 500 E. Mountain View Drive no. 105D. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, P.O. Box 1135, Blountville, TN 37617.
