Richard Brewer born 1814 Tennessee

I have for many years been searching for Richard Brewer, born March 10, 1833 in Claiborne Co., Tennessee (apparently)
he married Catherine Castora Miller granddaughter of Martin Luther Miller a Revolutionary War flutist through his son Pleasant Miller. We always thought Richard to be a grandson (somehow) of Ambrose Brewer and Mary Oma Richardson, but DNA tests say no--and my mom's name was Oma! She said the name was handed down in the family. Okay. A Dickman Brewer of the right age has been found on the 1850 census in the household of Dickinson and Sally Brewer who were both born about 1814. We think the Dick variations are just nicknames for Richard, does anyone have anything on this family? Breaking brick walls is a good thing.
