I don't actively research this family, but my aunt has. Here's what she wrote:
Lanier Brewer, born circa 1714 in Surry County, VA, died after 1777. Married Joanna ? in Brunswick County.
Lanier Brewer received a young steer as his inheritance in 1744. He probably received some land when he married. He patented land in Brunswick County in 1748, which he sold in 1750 and 1752. Since this was the last record of them in that county, they probably went to North Carolina, where in 1777, a Lanier Brewer is found in Moore County, NC.
Lanier Brewer Jr., was born circa 1746 in Brunswick County. He married twice, but the wive's names are unknown. It is said that Lanier Jr. had two wives and one concubine, with 30 sons, and three daughters. We have record of one son:
George Brewer, born circa 1775. He married Jane Butler (who was living in Wayne County, TN in 1850, age 70)
George and Jane's children were Charity, Henry, Jonas, Sally, Wiley, Sampson, and Mary Ann.
