Yes, it is amazing what we can miss the first time we look at a record. That is why I am so receptive to people questioning
my research. In going back to look at the records again, I so often find some bit that I overlooked the firs time, or that
didn't make sense until I had learned some other fact.
I'm researching the William Brewer who married Dorcas Churchwell. They were both from somewhere in NC, lived in Christian Co. KY around 1810-1816 before moving south to MS and then AL where they died between 1850 and 1860. He was my ggggfather.
Have you tried searching the 1850 Tn census for a Brewer from VA in that general area of TN? Henry would have been about 24, but might possibly still been at home.
