Barbara, thanks for the info. I do have a Howell Sr. as a descendant, same as your Howell. i have date of birth as 1722(abt) in W. Tenn. died in NC. I have two wifes, but didn't know which was first etc. I have Rebecca Willis and Marian May. Did Marian or Rebecca have your ancestor? I think that Marian had my John S. Brewer, dob abt. 1738-41 in VA. died 1824 NC, /is this the soldier??? My John Sr. married Amey Meredith of Brunswick, VA (no dates) they had Nathan Thomas, who had Willis B. Brewer who married Mahala Maynard etc. etc. But it just hit me that maybe John S. Brewers mother was Rebecca Willis, as then their grandson was then named Willis, they could have chosen their grandmothers maiden name for a first name, right???just a thought. So we trace back together to Howell Sr. and Rebecca or Marian. Thank you you have given me some more info than what I had before, and we have to be realted....isn't this genealogy fun stuff????best of luck, Terry and Phyllis
