I think i have looked at most info on this brewer line, and as you say i have no proof that George is the son of John. But that does not mean it is not true. Mr broyhill stated that he spent thousands of dollars and read every document in the state library and proved that he was not the son of john.(this is according to ben brewer) I dont believe anyone has read every file on this and even if they did all they proved is that they didnt find the connection.
I say there is more evidence leaning to his being the son than there is to his not being the son. My grandfather was robert Brewer 1812, farm on Rattlesnake creek in Greenville county, but i can not connect him to the Brewer family. I believe he is a son of either Jesse or John the sons of George and Abigail. only because I can place them in this area on the nc and va line. I can also place John brewer in prince george county and Thomas in Henrico, John 1 Purchased the Stanley "100" after the death of George Yeardley, Our ist governor Thomas lived on Brewers Borough
I have a map of the area (from the library) showing the location of George Brewers land and Also lists Brewees borough in the year 1711. It also shows the location of the Wyche farm that was the Inhertence of Abigail Wyche. That combined with George brewers land made a very large holding. It was divided in the will of George and most of it was later Purchased by the brother william brewer. Most of what we find is on assumption until we find the proof or find different. I will have to see more than i could not find , to believe George is Not the son of john. Saying this ,you still could be right. My last name is stanley and you will find us in Charles city in 1634.
