We may be talking about the same records. The American State papers were records from the US Senate which pertained to former British and Spanish land claims in the area we discussed. I only researched the book that covers I believe up to 1809. I would have to snail mail the copies to you as they are digital images of the book. I usually only post original records or transcribed records on my site. We could mail each other what we have and try to sort it out.
I have a program called "ANIMAP" which is the program most people use in studying boundries of the US, States and counties. The key is where were the land claims actually located. It may be that some eventually fell in LA or MS which could help sort some of this ouit. The creek names referenced may help sort this out.
The only reason why I believe we are looking at several families is tax records from back in GA. The Brewer line refernced in the next post you made make a quantam leap from VA to AL/MS/LA. The GA records will be key in sorting some of this out as I feel quite confident that the George, William, John and Charles most likely came from Warren county GA. Since I talked the last time with you I found some references where Hiram Mounger traveled back to GA on business. As I mentioned previously the Moungers and Brewers attended the Long Branch Church in Warren county together. It can be quite confusing as it appears these families kept lands in both places for periods of time. I believe if I researched the actuial land deeds of Warren county instead of the abstracts, we may find more clues. The Warren county line of Brewers appears to be well educated from all the Lawyers in this line. I just wish I had more time at this point to research this further. As soon as I sell my house I will have more time.
