Very interesting. The surname Prettyman was fairly common in the Eastern Shore area (Somerset/Worcester Co's, MD, and Northampton/Accomack Co's, VA). Quite a few descendants of the Prettyman family carried this name as a first/given name.

I am researching the surname Driskell/Driskill (aka Duskie/Dusky/Druskie/Dryskil, etc.) of Somerset/Worcester Co., MD. I have found some illusive clues that make me wonder if the Driskells and Brewers met in Chatham Co., NC...ca 1790-1810. If anyone has a Brewer record showing this surname, please post it.

I do know Lewis Driskill married Sinia Brewer in Highland Co., OH in 1841. They had sons named
Simon/Simeon and Isham, and those are BREWER names.

In Wilkinson Co., GA, Jacob Driskill married Mrs. Alley Meadows/Meador, 1824. It is possible Alley (or Eliphair/Alliphar) was a BREWER, the daughter of Simon & Elizabeth BREWER. Jacob and Alley named a son Simeon/Simon.
Again, this was not a known Driskill name.

Does anyone have information that would determine if these two BREWER families connect? If so, did they both migrate out of Chatham Co., NC?

Thanks,
Gale
