this is a good discussion, maybe some others will join in and we can figure this out/ most people tend to use ben brewers book as the history of the brewer line. i believe he is of the lewis brewer line in benton co tenn, and according to him lewis brewer of benton co is the son of james brewer and ann. and that he married mary alsup of nc.
i have just about all the children of james and was of the opinion that lewis brewer son of james married a dorothy and
was living in va in 1830. lewis brewer of benton co was in benton co and was one of the founders of benton county in 1820he may have been related to one of the other brewers,?? but i am convinced he was not the son of james all of james children can be accounted for in va and willis in ohio. i have heard the story of the shipwreak, and as far as im concerned its just as plausable as any of the others i have read.I need to find a Robert Brewer born (census Record) in 1812, lived on farm in greenville co va, nearly on nc line. and i cant find him in any family record so i tend to beieve he is born in nc. to a john or to a jesse.
