I have Ambrose Brewer as the brother of Lewis Brewer of Grayson County, Virginia, and both as sons of Howell Brewer Sr. born 1722.

Others have their father as Lanier Brewer Sr. Which is correct?

I do know that Lewis Brewer had a son named "Lanier/Linnear" Brewer.

Apparently Old Lanier, IF he is indeed the father of these two men, may have died and his widow married a Russell, as Lewis Brewer's wife Agatha Holland is referred to as "Agathy Brewer or Russell" twice in her father's 1803 Grayson County, VA will.

By the way, Charity "Hollon"'s husband was John Hollon (HOLLAND), son of William Holland and Rebecca Russell. William was the sister of Agatha Holland Brewer, my gggg grandmother, and son of George and Mary (maiden name unknown) Holland of Grayson County, Virginia. I suspect old George may have been the son of an old Peter Holland, but am not yet certain at this point...:-).
