Ambrose BREWER 1750's-1850's
Posted by: Mark Arnold Date: November 05, 1998 at 14:42:14

I've read all the different postings and seen different lineages, etc. floating around.
Here's my main problem: It appears that Ambrose was married TWICE ... His first wife was a woman with the maiden name of RUSSELL (and there was a big nest of them around that part of VA/NC, too) ... Now, it was sort of customary in this family to name sons after the maiden name of the mother ... thus, was my 3g-grandfather, Russell BREWER, (b. 1785, NC d. 1858, Warren Co. TN) the son of Ambrose by his first marriage? I've strongly suspected this for a long time ...
If I'm correct, I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out with some solid information as far as dates, places, etc. I've got a bunch of stuff on Russell Brewer but nothing DOCUMENTED any further back --
Thanks in advance --
